Hiking tour around the black gold

Explore the Outre-Forêt region in the Alsace Verte, following in the footsteps of the famous ‘black gold’ that once shaped the entire industrial economy. Start in Soultz-sous-Forêts and continue towards the foothills of the Northern Vosges. After Lobsann, head through the forest towards Merkwiller-Pechelbronn. Remnants of the oil industry’s heyday can still be seen along the route. Continue on to Kutzenhausen, where you can visit the Maison Rurale de l’Outre-Forêt, which showcases local rural life.
