Classée Monument Historique dès 1840, ce majestueux monument gothique est le plus important de Bazas. Édifiée du XIe au XIVe siècle sur l'emplacement d'un premier édifice roman encore visible dans la base du clocher.

Cet imposant édifice gothique des XIIe et XIVe siècles, conserve la tombe du Pape Clément V, premier Pape français en Avignon (1314).

Le domaine nature d'Hostens est un véritable lieu de découverte de la pratique sportive de nature. En pleine forêt des Landes girondines, il offre un espace naturel de 600 hectares comprenant 5 lacs dont un est réservé aux activités nautiques et à la baignade.

Entre un ancien gisement de lignite dorénavant occupé par 5 grands lacs, des nombreuses zones humides voire tourbeuses, des peuplements de Pin maritime et un marais de tête de bassin parsemé de lagunes et de landes humides, l'Espace Naturel Sensible "Domaine d'Hostens et Lagunes du Gât-Mort" s'étend sur un peu plus de 730 hectares. Propriété du Département, ce site est le plus vaste ENS girondin.

In Uzeste stands the ancient collegiate church of Notre-Dame, the great work of Pope Clement V. The building is composite: a primitive Romanesque envelope, a 13th century nave, a small Gothic portal dedicated to the Virgin Mary (second half of the 13th century). The chevet and the choir were built in the 14th century, the bell tower erected at the end of the 15th century. The magnificent marble tomb of the Gascon pope was installed in the middle of the choir in the 19th century. The stained glass windows in the three apses of the choir, the work of the glass painters Joseph Villiet and Henri Feur, show that the whole life of the pontiff Clement is linked to Uzeste from his baptism to his burial. Saint-Léger-de-Balson is known for its pilgrimage in honour of Saint Clair, which took place every year in the Saint-Léger church. The church has a Romanesque chevet and a façade with a bell tower. A large porch has long served to welcome the crowds during the pilgrimage.

Saint-Symphorien, au« pays paroupian », est un village où l'héritage littéraire de l'écrivain François Mauriac se mêle à un riche passé industriel. Enfant, Mauriac y passait ses vacances et les paysages, notamment la rivière La Hure, ont profondément inspiré son œuvre. Le Chalet Mauriac et la maison dite de « Thérèse Desqueyroux » sont des témoignages vivants de cet univers.

The Domaine Départemental de Sports et de Loisirs Gérard Lagors in Hostens is a 600-hectare estate equipped for exploration of the natural milieu and for a range of outdoor leisure activities (including mountain biking, canoeing, archery, climbing, tennis and bathing). The beach is supervised from June to September. The estate also offers visitors a chance to try their hand at its “Escalad’arbres” – a mixed, removable forest trail made up of ropes and cables.
