Plaine-Joux to Lac Vert via the footbridge

Plaine-Joux to Lac Vert via the footbridge
Plaine-Joux to Lac Vert via the footbridge

Description

From the Passy Plaine-Joux station, take a beautiful loop to the splendid Lac Vert, passing by heritage sites (former sanatoriums, architectural interest) and the remarkable Nant-Bordon Himalayan footbridge.

The route starts in the heart of the Passy Plaine-Joux resort. Head for the Barmus chairlift and Lac Gris, and continue along the track that runs alongside and overhangs the stream. At the end, cross the main road and turn right towards the Guébriant vacation resort. Go past the main building and at the end of the road, at another junction with the main road (bridge), turn right, then immediately left. Follow the path which climbs a little further to the right into the forest. After a short but steep climb, start your descent towards the Fontenay residence (left, then straight on). Follow the main road downhill for 150m, pass a stele (Roc des Fiz) and take the path which gradually rises to the left. Then descend to the right as far as the next junction. Turn left and follow the old Lac Vert road all the way up, passing the Himalayan footbridge. Walk counter-clockwise around the lake and back up to the resort along an undergrowth path. You pass the Cabanes du Mont-Blanc before returning to the mountain pastures and slopes of Passy Plaine-Joux.

La Douze

An innovative 12-hour trail in which each person creates his or her own race: freely link up different routes to accumulate points, solo or in relays, in an exceptional natural setting facing Mont Blanc.La Douze - Mont-Blanc Passy is an original trail concept that turns traditional running codes on their head. There's no set distance: each participant creates his or her own 12-hour challenge, freely linking together several trails of varying distances and levels. Accessible to all, from beginners to experienced trail runners, the event offers different loop formats (short to long, with progressive gradients) to be combined according to one's mood, current form or race strategy. The objective is simple: to cover the greatest possible distance in the allotted time, accumulating points based on kilometers covered, positive elevation gain and bonus challenges along the way. But be careful with time management: any minute over the 12-hour time limit will result in penalties. The event can be run solo or in relay (teams of 2 to 4 people), reinforcing the spirit of sharing and strategy. Everyone is free to alternate effort, recovery and conviviality in the race village. Held at Passy Plaine-Joux, facing the Mont-Blanc massif, La Douze offers a unique immersion in the heart of nature, between forests, mountain pastures and exceptional panoramas. The event is as much about sport as it is about fun, with a convivial atmosphere and a collective closing ceremony for all participants.
