Start: Valtin town hall parking lot

From the town hall parking lot, drive through Le Valtin, a mountain village nestled between forests, rocky escarpments and high-altitude meadows. Pass the Valtin quarry on your left, then follow the Meurthe for several kilometers to reach Plainfaing.

At the intersection with the main road, turn left towards Fraize / Saint-Dié-des-Vosges. Stay on the D415, then turn left onto the D73 towards Ban-sur-Meurthe-Clefcy. This road follows the Petite Meurthe stream through a steep, wooded valley. You will also pass through the village of Sachemont.

Shortly after the old iron mine, turn right onto the main road. Turn left towards Le Valtin to return to your starting point.
