New PDIPR 2026 itinerary:
The CIRON (Sirio in Latin) is a river of great importance to the geography and general economy of southern Gironde. It separates the forested part of the Landes region to the south on its left bank from the cultivated part to the north on its right bank. The Ciron valley has always been an important axis of life, with the construction of fortifications in feudal times, the passage of pilgrims from Santiago de Compostela, the building of mills and the floating of timber.
Once you've left all the noise and civilization behind, set off on a voyage of discovery along the river's "gallery forest", a sort of forest corridor that characterizes the Ciron valley.
