Au pied des Aiguilles d'Arves par la Basse du Gerbier

Description
You can already see them in the parking lot... The Aiguilles d'Arves are beckoning you. Answer their call and come and see them up close! As you walk across this beautiful alpine plateau, you may come across their inhabitants, such as marmots, chamois and cows.
This hike offers magnificent scenery and a rich history around the plateau and alpine pastures. The gradual ascent allows groups of varying levels to hike together. Along the way, discover the orientation table and spot the Aiguille Septentrionale, which looks like a cat's head. On the way back, cross the alpine pasture where you may see marmots. You'll also be walking on the remains of an ancient glacier beneath the Aiguille de l'Épaisseur.
Come and lose yourself on this beautiful plateau!

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Start: Relais TV parking lot in the hamlet of Le Chalmieu, follow the Basse du Gerbier road.
1/ After passing Les Chabottes, leave a footbridge on your right to continue straight ahead.
2/ Cross the torrent by a footbridge.
3/ After the footbridge, turn right at La Motte to leave the track and take the path to La Basse du Gerbier.
4/ At Basse du Gerbier, turn left towards Sous la Tête de Chat then Plan Pradin.
5/ Then take the path down to La Motte.
6/ From La Motte, return by the same route.
