The Natura 2000 Site "Marais d’Ippling" – A Protected Natural Area.

Set off to discover an environment of exceptional richness during this walk, created in the heart of the Natura 2000 “Birds and Habitats” zone. Protected by the Conservatory of Natural Areas of Lorraine, this site offers a total immersion in a timeless and enchanting place — a true paradise for nature lovers.

Ideally, start your walk towards the forest. After a short stroll along a wide path, you’ll quickly reach the Natura 2000 area — a hidden natural treasure, tucked away and peaceful.
Forests, large wet meadows, peat and marsh wetlands, a stream, and numerous butterflies — both diurnal and nocturnal — will accompany you throughout your journey. With no fewer than 202 recorded species, butterflies thrive here thanks to the abundance of flowering plants and the mosaic of habitats found in the valley.

This 3 km trail is an easy and gentle hike, perfect for children, and offers a wonderful opportunity to discover local flora and fauna. The “Marais d’Ippling” site, covering 54 hectares, becomes an open-air natural playground. This family-friendly walk, far from roads and traffic, combines discovery and relaxation. It offers
a complete break in a preserved natural setting.

Whether in spring, summer, autumn, or winter, this walk always offers a beautiful and ever-changing landscape. Each season brings its own natural wonders, making every visit unique. A year-round spectacle to enjoy.
