On site, you will find the trail under the following name: LE CIRCUIT DE L'ÉTANG DES MARAIS
A great family walk to enjoy all year round for relaxation and fun!
The Marais Pond in Rémering-lès-Puttelange is one of the must-see sites in the Sarreguemines Confluences area. Known for its natural setting, it attracts walkers and nature lovers all year long. Over a short distance of 5.5 km, the "Pond Trail" invites you to explore this haven of tranquility and dive into the history of the Aquatic Maginot Line.
The starting point is just below the Cap Fun campsite, where an initial information board introduces the rich past and strategic role of this reservoir pond.
After a few steps to the right, crossing the dike offers a stunning view over the calm waters, fishing piers, and surrounding nature. Continuing to the left after the dike (heading right leads to the 11.8 km "Around the Marais Pond" trail), the path winds between fields and forests, offering a full immersion in the local biodiversity. The trail is highly appreciated by cyclists and hikers, and you may come across a few riders who enjoy the calm and refreshing woods.
Four additional information boards punctuate your walk, providing insights not only on the Marais Pond but also on its neighbouring ponds in Puttelange, Hoste, and Holving. At the end of the trail, two large wooden swings await young and old alike for a few souvenir photos with one of the best views of the pond. To complete this nature break, there is also a play and picnic area, entirely made of wood, perfect for sharing a convivial moment.
