VTT 3 Bastides et châteaux

Go towards the washhouse, cross the canal and continue straight ahead. Up to the left ride about 1km ( 0,6mi.) and turn right on the street Rue de la textile. At the crossroads turn left, cross the bridge and enter Coarraze. Go to the church. Pass in front of it and then the town hall. Turn right for roughly 500m ( 1640ft.) and take the bend to the left. Then turn right, up the road Rue Henri IV. Continue straight ahead on the road Chemin Debat Casteyre for about 1km ( 0,6mi.).

To the right, take the middle road at the junction. Go up. Follow the stony track. Take the path to the left, go down and then go up for 700m ( 2297,6ft.). Turn right, go down on a small road, once at the end turn left. At a left-hand bend, go up and turn left. At the next crossroads turn right. Go down for 400m ( 1312ft.). Turn right immediately after a small bridge. At the end of the road, turn left along the railway.

Turn right on the square Place Ribère then continue straight ahead Cami de Berryes. At the bottom, pass by a small square. After the fountain of Bruquet on your left go straight ahead by the road that goes up along the railway. After the bridge to the left, follow the main road for 2.6km (1,61mi.). Turn right on a track right before a farm. Follow the Bedat track.

Turn right, go up the small road. Once the road is flat go straight ahead. Lovely view of Saint Pé de Bigorre. Cross the col by taking the road to the right then turning left. Picnic area to the left below. Turn left, go down on the track of the slate quarry. Take the hairpin turn on the left and continue to go down a lovely and very enjoyable country lane. At the end, turn left on the road. 100m ( 328ft.) further on, turn left onto a path. Then go down on a small road. Cross the railway. Turn left on the road D37. Ride 500m ( 1640ft.) and turn right, cross the bridge of the caves and turn right. Follow the small road, pass by the sanctuary of Bétharram. Cross the road and go to the end of the car park to the right towards Lestelle.

Go straight ahead on the road Chemin de Lirou, go up and down. Turn right on the road Chemin de Baburet, ride alongside the Ouzom. At the end turn left, cross the bridge and turn immediately to the right in a park at the bottom of Asson. Follow the small path that goes up on the road next to the house with a gable roof. Turn right on the road Rue Labat. We reach the road D2 that comes from the centre of the village. At the second crossroads turn right towards the Moulin de Labardère (the Mill of Labardère). At the mill go up to the left. Follow the former Baburet railtrack. Turn right and go down. Continue to the end, turn right then left to go back to the start in Igon.
