Start the walk from the town hall square. Looking at the castle, turn left then right. At the stop sign, cross and continue straight on. At the square Place de la Bascule, turn right and, 100m (approx. 328ft.) further, go up to the left into the housing estate Moun de Rey. At the end of the track turn right on a path and 1km (approx. 0.62mi.) further turn left twice. Then go down for 1km (approx. 0.62mi.). At the crossroads with a cross, go up on the left and then go down. The view over Nay is very beautiful. Once in Nay, continue straight ahead then cross the road D936 and keep straight on.
In front of the fire station, turn left and go along the Gave. Follow the walking and cycling path (the greenway) then leave it briefly to follow the riverbank before the footbridge of Baudreix. Do not cross the footbridge and continue on the greenway.
At the church of Bourdettes, turn left then right. Cross the road D936 and go up to the right in the housing estate Riu de Lanne. At the crossroads, turn left and 200m ( 656ft.) further, turn right. Pass by the square Place de la Bascule turning right towards the village. Cross the road and go straight on towards the castle of Arros.
This path that goes up on the Moun de Rey gives you a beautiful view of the hills and villages.
The greenway goes along the serene riverbanks of the Gave.
For centuries, quarries made Arros-de-Nay famous. The local white limestone and grey sandstone slabs were used in a lot of construction.
