Take the small street alongside the Crédit Agricole (1, 233 m). Further down on the left, a sign indicates the distance remaining to Saint-Jacques: 910 km! Further down, the path comes to a lake, which you go round to the right, crossing over the dyke. The path then goes around a house, through a wood and then a cornfield before reaching a small road that you should follow to the right. Continue straight ahead. The road becomes a track, passing by a farm and descending through fields and woods until you cross a bridge to reach the Moulin de Louvigny.
Cross a road and follow the red and white markings and signs for Saint-Jacques. The route is almost flat, with very little traffic, as far as the bridge over the Luy-de-Béarn. Climb back up, then turn right at the fork, and then follow the route d'Uzan to the right. You will soon reach the church of Sainte-Quitterie and then the village of Uzan.
The Béarnaise house is built using grey river pebbles in mortar. One of the essential features of the Béarnaise house is its roof: the pitch can be 50° or more, covered with flat tiles or, more frequently, slates. In Béarn, the houses vary according to the valleys and geographical areas.
It's certainly the most mythical route, but once you've had a taste of it, it's hard to resist.
