La rivière qui longe le parc et qui se déverse dans la Loire est un lieu très apprécié des odonates, aussi appelés demoiselles ou libellules. Ainsi 7 espèces de libellules et 7 espèces de demoiselles vivent sur le parc. On les aperçoit virevoltant sur les bords de la rive.
