Autour de Voulangis

Description

Formerly divided between the seigniories of Voulangis, Saint-Martin and Moulangis, its territory formed the commune of Saint-Martin-lès-Voulangis. The decline of the Priory of St-Martin and the ruin of its church moved the heart of the commune, church, town hall, and schools, to the hamlet of Mon toir during the 19 th century.
The church’s bell tower (1823), twice struck by lightning, was rebuilt in 1853 under the supervision of the architect SAVARD (the architect of the elegant Bouleurs wash house).
