The name of this gentle, picturesque path translates to the ‘Baby Buggy Trail’.
Walkers of all ages, but especially families with small children or babies in buggies will love this idyllic stroll which leads from the quaint centre of Champéry through a fairy-tale forest to the aptly named Grand Paradis at the foot of the Dents Blanches Mountains.
Departure from the cable car parking lot:
From the cable car, head up the hill to the Restaurant du Vieux Chalet. Turn left and follow the Route de Planachaux for 150m then continue flat on the Route de Gleux. This quiet village street, lined with picturesque chalets, will lead you to a gently rolling path through the forest. At its end, in Grand Paradis, you can stop at the covered picnic area or the welcoming Guest House du Grand Paradis for a refreshing drink or a snack.
This is the perfect walk to take in any kind of weather, as the dense forest provides plenty of protection on sunny days or during a sudden rain shower. The path is cleared of snow in the winter.
Good to know: in winter and summer seasons, you can take a free shuttle bus back from Grand Paradis to the cable car.
