Description

This is an exceptional hike that awaits you. As an appetizer, the edge of the Marne, with a beautiful view of the cathedral. As a main course, the Patis parc, made up of ancient sand pits where nature has regained its rights, which is the joy of the many birds that inhabit ponds and peat bogs. Finally, for dessert, the old Meaux with some beautiful facades and the St-Etienne cathedral.

1 - From the train station, cross the car park, get off at the edge of the Marne and go left. Go under the bridge and follow the quay Victor Hugo. Cross the Marne by the Marché bridge on the right and follow the river on the left, taking the path below. Go past Pont Neuf and cross the Marne at Pont Foch.

2 - Turn right quai Jacques Prévert Prolongé. After the barrier, turn left and shortly after, enter a right-hand lane. She reaches an alley. Take it to the left then turn right on Chemin du Pâtis. Follow straight for 1300 m past a crossroads and going left at the second.

3 - The path winds its way between two ponds, passes a pumping station and ends at a third pond. Turn left and then left again at the first path. He arrives at avenue Henri Dunan. Follow it for 150 m, then go left into an alley that goes behind the pumping station and becomes a path.

4 - After 200 m, the path turns right. Continue along several ponds. At the first alley, go right. After 150 m, take the left onto a path and then the wooden panel track, above the bogs. At the crossroads, shortly after leaving the wood, take the right path.

5 - The path leads into a beautiful alley. Follow it to the right then continue in the same direction along the avenue de la Marne. Cross the avenue du Maréchal Foch, continue opposite rue de la Crêche. Cross the rue Aristide Briand, the avenue du Président Salvador Allende, the rue de l'Abreuvoir successively and finally take the rue Faubourg-St-Nicolas on the left.

6 - Keep the same direction by taking place Henri IV, rue du Général Leclerc and rue St-Etienne. At the cathedral, turn left, rue de Martimprey. At the city hall, turn right onto rue Louis Geoffroy. Continue cours de Verdun, cross rue Jean Bureau (be careful!) And go up towards the station by rue de Trinitaires.

Historical center of Meaux

The historical center of Meaux still bears a morphology inherited past. Patis Natural Park

The biggest urban natural park in Ile-de-France.If you need some fresh air in a natural environment, if want to engage in sport activites, or take a walk with your family, the Patis natural park is a green belt within the urban fabric.
